Allergic Transfusion reactions

urticaria; rarely, anaphylaxis due to rxn to txfused proteins, especially in IgA-deficient Pts w/ anti-IgA Abs (use washed products). Rx: urticaria → diphenhydramine; anaphylaxis → epinephrine ± steroids. Washed products ↓ rxns in chronic txfusions.
