Medications that may act as precipitants of syncope
- vasodilators:
- α-blockers,
- nitrates,
- ACEI/ARB,
- CCB,
- hydralazine,
- phenothiazines,
- antidep.
- diuretics; ⊖ chronotropes (eg, βB and CCB)
- proarrhythmic or QT prolonging:
- class IA, IC or III antiarrhythmics (see “ECG”)
- psychoactive drugs:
- antipsychotics,
- TCA,
- barbiturates,
- benzodiazepines,
- EtOH
