Kussmaul’s sign

• Kussmaul 徵 is:吸氣時頸靜脈壓 (JVP) 反常升高，或者吸氣時 JVP 未能適當下降

• With cardiac tamponade,

• Constrictive pericarditis

• jugular veins are distended and typically show:

  • a prominent x descent and
  • an absent y descent
  • see Beck’s triad

• as opposed to patients with constrictive pericarditis

  • prominent x and y descent
