• Catheter-based clot extraction (eg, AngioVac or FlowTriever): ↓ PA pressure

• surgical embolectomy:

• IVC filter: use if anticoag contraindic.; no benefit to adding to anticoag (JAMA 2015;313:1627)

Complications

• migration,
• acute DVT,
• ↑ risk of recurrent DVT & IVC obstruction (5–18%)
