• Definition: Test used to evaluate the electrical activity in the brain, particularly for seizure or “interictal” (between seizures) epileptiform discharges
• Indications:
- Evaluation of suspected epilepsy and classification of seizure disorders
- Management of status epilepticus
- Evaluation of altered mental status
