drugs routinely used for intrathecal application

  • Methotrexate MTX,
  • AraC a.k.a Cytarabin (including the depot form of liposome-encapsulated AraC) and
  • thiotepa.

MTX is the drug for which the broadest experience in the treatment of LM exists.

The chemotherapeutic agent may be brought into the CSF via an intraventricular Rickham or Ommaya reservoir or via lumbar puncture.
