Kawasaki disease
Usually Asian children < 4 years old.
CRASH
- Conjunctivitis, Bilateral nonexudative bulbar
- Rash (polymorphous desquamating),
- Adenopathy (cervical)
- Strawberry tongue (oral mucositis),
- Hand-foot changes (edema, erythema),
Burn: fever.
Arteritis associated with the mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome and predominantly affecting medium and small arteries. Coronary arteries are often involved. Aorta and large arteries may be involved.
- Treatment: IV immunoglobulin and aspirin.
