  • WBC elevated,
  • median ∼80 K/μL; anemia (40–60%),
  • plts nl or elevated (600–700k)
• Differential & smear:
  • Full spectrum of myeloid forms
    • left shift
      • blasts
      • myelocytes
      • metamylocytes
      • neutrophils
  • basophilia ± eosinophilia also common (>90%)
• BMBx:
  • Hypercellular,
  • granulocytic hyperplasia,
  • small megakaryocytes w/ hypolobated nuclei,
  • blasts variable (% defines dz phase)
