• Special infectious-acquired form of PRCA
• Associated with immunodeficiency or hereditary hemolytic anemias with erythroid hyperplasia of the marrow
• Can be caused by B19 parvovirus
• Other viral causes, such as Epstein-Barr virus and cytomegalovirus (CMV), may also be implicated
